Jordan Spieth Wins 2015 US Open
Jordan Spieth Wins 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay to claim his second major championship this year. Spieth is now half way to the career grand slam and is quickly putting himself in elite historical company. With his win at Chambers Bay this weekend, he became the youngest player to win the US Open since 1923. He is the youngest player in golf history to win both the Masters and the US Open. He also is the youngest golfer to win a second major championship since 1922. With this victory, Spieth joins Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Craig Wood and Ben Hogan as the only golfers to win the Masters and US Open in the same year.
Spieth was able to outlast Dustin Johnson, who had a chance to win the tournament with a 12 foot eagle putt on the final hole. Johnson then faced a short birdie putt to force a playoff, which he missed to give Spieth his second consecutive major title. Spieth showed a ton of grit and toughness as he battled from behind to take the lead. Unlike his Masters win at Augusta, where he led wire-to-wire, Jordan really had to fight and claw to earn this victory. He will now turn his attention towards St. Andrews, where he will continue his pursuit of the calendar grand slam next month.
