Rickie Fowler Wins Deutsche Bank Open

Rickie Fowler wins Deutsche Bank Open to claim the third PGA Tour victory of his career. The 26 year old, shot a 3 under 68 in the final round to close the event at 15 under par. He was able to outlast Henrik Stenson, who went into the final round as the leader, by one stroke. Stenson looked poised to win the Deutsche Bank Open for a second time, but faltered down the stretch. He used the wrong club on the par three 16th, sending his tee shot into the water. That mistake would ultimately be the fatal blow, as he went on to double bogey the hole and never recovered. Stenson also missed a 14-foot putt for birdie on the final hole, sealing his fate.

With another victory, Fowler continues to change the narrative that he is a talented, but overrated player. For years, many looked at Rickie as skilled and stylish, but not able to win in big moments at big events. He is now ranked fifth in the world rankings and a major championship may be all he needs to cement his place as one of the best in the game.
