Steven Bowditch Wins AT&T Byron Nelson
Steven Bowditch wins AT&T Byron Nelson to earn his second career win on the PGA Tour. Bowditch was a birdie machine, on his way to shooting a 5-under 64 on the tournament’s final day. He finished with 27 birdies and a final score of 18 under 259. He was able to lead all four rounds of the event, becoming just the seventh player in history to do so. The state of Texas continues to be extremely friendly to Bowditch, who has now earned both of his tour victories in the state. Prior to this weekend’s victory, the Australian won the 2014 Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. He also married his wife at the resort located right next to the TPC Four Seasons, where the AT&T Byron Nelson takes place.
Scott Pinckney, Charley Hoffman and Jimmy Walker finished in a three-way tie for second place at 14 under par. After that, was Zach Johnson alone in fifth place with a score of 13 under par. Dustin Johnson was able to take a brief lead over Bowditch early in Sunday’s final round. However, he shot a disastrous 8 on the par 4 sixth which ended any chance he had at winning. Johnson shot a 69, finishing the event at 11 under.
